Asnuntuck CC Food Pantry Wins $ 8.6,000 Credit Union Donation


ENFIELD, CT – The Asnuntuck Community College Food Pantry will receive $ 8,614 after being voted the winner of the American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) Quarterly Giving Program.

The Pantry was among three nonprofits to make money in the third quarter of AEFCU’s Cash Back to the Community program, after the organizations received the most votes from community members.

Dr Michelle Coach, CEO of Asnuntuck Community College, said the college is honored to have been selected as the recipient.

“Food insecurity has been a struggle for many of our students, and it has been exacerbated by the pandemic,” Coach said. “This donation will make a huge difference in the lives of a significant number of our students – and they are our community.”

Our Piece of the Pie, Inc. youth development center and the Southington Girls Softball League also received funding from AEFCU, which donates 1% of its credit and debit card exchange earnings. to three non-profit organizations and / or 501 (c) (3) organizations four times per year.

Funding is generated whenever an American Eagle Financial Credit Union member uses their AEFCU credit or debit card, officials said, and a combination of Credit Union members and the public have voted on recipients .
