CSUN to rename Matadome “Premier America Credit Union Arena” under new deal – Daily News


NORTHRIDGE — Cal State Northridge’s Matador Gymnasium, better known as Matadome, is being renamed Premier America Credit Union Arena as part of a 10-year agreement announced by the school on Wednesday, March 23.

The deal has an annual value of $660,000 in year one and increases each year by 5%, eventually reaching $975,000 in year 10, for a total value of $8.3 million, according to Claudia Keith, vice president. CSUN Acting Associate for Marketing and Communications.

Along with renaming the 2,500-seat arena that is home to CSUN’s basketball and volleyball teams, the partnership includes naming Premier America as “the official credit union of CSUN, the exclusive cooperative partner credit card from CSUN Athletics and the CSUN Alumni Association, and the affinity credit card provider for the alumni association,” the school said.

The premier’s name will be displayed on the arena field and the credit union will sponsor games during the basketball, volleyball and baseball seasons, the school said.

Additionally, Premier America will open a credit union branch and place ATMs on campus, as well as hosting “financial wellness and literacy programs, and sponsoring various student and campus events.” “.

The agreement will also support events at CSUN’s Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts and other events in coordination with the CSUN Alumni Association.

The deal was approved by the CSU board of directors at its meeting on Wednesday.
