It would be a matter of honor for India if every poor person in the country had their own house and had basic facilities like roti, kapada and makaan, the minister said according to Assocham’s statement.
However, Kishore said there was a need to simplify processes to enable this.
Kishore told bankers that steps should be taken to help people qualify for the home loan through easy paperwork.
“According to one estimate, there are about 1,36,000 bank branches across the country. If applicants can easily obtain home loans from these banks, the job of providing a home for everyone will also be easy,” a- he declared.
Pradeep Aggarwal, Chairman of Assocham’s National Property, Housing and Urban Development Council and Chairman of Signature Global, said affordable housing projects have become an important mainstay in the property sector.
In his keynote address, DS Tripathi, Managing Director and CEO, Aadhar
said that housing contributes 7% of GDP to the economy.

explained the need to simplify administrative formalities in various cases.
He added that accessibility and affordability are the main drivers for the expansion of the housing sector.
