Local credit union returns to demand masks, starting Monday


A local credit union is reverting to restrictions in its lobby starting today, due to the recent increase in the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

The First Source Federal Credit Union announced this weekend that starting Monday, regardless of immunization status, anyone entering their branch buildings must wear a CDC-approved face mask to prevent the spread of COVID -19.

“The health and safety of our staff, members and the community is our top priority. In line with recent COVID-19 spikes in Oneida and Herkimer counties, and concerns about the Delta variant, First Source will take the recommended CDC and local health department. precautions. Monday, September 13, masks will be required for in-branch services for employees and members, regardless of their immunization status. “

On August 16, First Source announced that employees would be required to wear masks regardless of their immunization status and urged members and customers to follow suit.

“Our employees will be required to wear masks when inside First Source locations. It is strongly recommended that those entering the branch also wear masks for branch services, regardless of vaccination status. ”

First Source reopened its lobby to customers in February, after spending nearly a year offering drive-thru only.
